The Territory

Territory of Rotello: Deep Roots and Authentic Taste of the Heart of Molise
R otello, a municipality in the province of Campobasso, is a jewel of a thousand souls with a long history linked to olive trees.
Here, the Rosciola and Cellina olive varieties have been cultivated for centuries, yielding a remarkable extra virgin olive oil (EVO). Since 1994, the municipality has been a proud founding member of the 'Oil City' Association.
The town, initially called 'Loritello', saw Norman rule in the 11th century, with illustrious counts such as Robert I of Loritello and Robert II of Bassavilla. The county disappeared in 1220, but its legacy lives on in the fiefdoms that constituted it.
Today, Rotello is an integral part of Molise, the custodian of a medieval historical centre and the majestic Ducal Palace, the former residence of the Norman counts.

The Ducal Palace: An Icon of Rotello
R otello's majestic Ducal Palace, acquired by the D'Alessandro family in the early 1970s, dominates the landscape.
Originally a defensive structure, it underwent transformations over the centuries, becoming a stately residence after the war between the Angevins and the Aragons.
Our land for passion: territory, sustainability and biodiversity
F or more than five generations, even before arriving in Rotello from Puglia, the Mancini D'Alessandro family has been cultivating olive trees with dedication, promoting care for the land, sustainability and biodiversity.
That is why every drop of extra virgin olive oil produced by Casa Mancini D'Alessandro encapsulates all the flavour and history of this land.
